Paige worked through her morning speech therapy anticipating her first outing since her Stop & Shop adventure last week. She would be fulfilling a long time dream by making a brief appearance at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show.

Paige and her mother visited the stands and then headed for the grooming areas. Paige did well with the people. She learned the names of many breeds that were new to her and fell in love with virtually every dog in the show. As a bit of luck, Paige bumped into Avery who invited her to see the best labrador retrievers at ringside as they were being judged by the erect Mrs. Arbuckle.

Paige was fitted for her red reading glasses with their prism lens.  She used them with her evening tutoring.  She looks better than Sarah Palin.

Her parents met with Paige's new neuropsychologists.  They outlined a program of testing, evaluation, counseling and remediation that will be implemented over the next several weeks. Paige begins with them on Thursday.

  1. Good Morning Paige!
It sounds like you had a wonderful time visiting with all the dogs at Westminster. What joy!! The winning spaniel is such a beauty.
I didn't realize you were getting prisms in your glasses. I've had prisms since childhood, the only visible difference in glasses wtih prisms vs regular corrective lenses seems to be the higher price of the lens!! I bet you look adorable in them. I will send you a picture of Elsa in her glasses at Palm Beach!
Meantime, enjoy your other upcoming outings and your path to continued wellness.
    Love, Ellen Vreeland

  2. Paige,

I am soooo jealous that you got to go to Westminster - that is on my lifetime "to do" list. I adored the Sussex Spaniel that won best in show, but seeing the labradors would have been the high point for me, too. We hope that you keep making wonderful progress to a full recovery. Much love to you and your family - you are always in our thoughts and prayers.

    Much love,

    Uncle Jimmy and Terry

  3. Hi Paige,

I am so pleased that you are doing well. I think your recovery is terrific-everyone is so pleased and we all continue to root for you daily. since you went to the Westminster show I know you will enjoy a youtube video called "the Animal Odd Couple" Look it up, you will smile. You are redefining the model for "self reliance" for all of us.
We miss you and will think of you today at Hotchkiss. Be well,
    Mrs. Sides

  6. Hey Paige!

It sounds like you had a pretty good time at the dog show. I'm so happy that you're getting better so quickly. I miss you so much! I remember during field hockey season when we would be doing sprints or some other form of what Ms. Tetrault called "conditioning" where a more appropriate name would be "torture" and you would always be the one cracking jokes and making everyone laugh through the pain. I always loved how it was a lot easier having you there to make me laugh, and I guess now it's my turn to make this easier for you. I miss you lots and look forward to seeing the funniest member of the field hockey team back on campus soon!

    Much love,
    Nicole
